Stayed here after getting lost in Chicago and driving many miles looking for a hotel/motel that had accommodation for the night. Stumbled across this place and we took a room. It's old, it still has wood paneling on the walls and a noisy window air conditioner. The room was clean and we had a great sleep. The next year we made the same trip from southern Ontario through Chicago and back up through Minnesota back to Ontario; we made it a point to stay over at the Sunset Inn again. Had another good stay and a wonderful sleep. We like it because of it's 1950's charm, back when times seemed to be simpler.
The owner was very accommodating after a mis-communication on our date. He worked very hard with us to ensure we had a place to sleep. Thank you Barack!

This was a blast from the past. The rooms are a perfect time capsule of the 1970's. It brought back such fond memories from when I was a kid. The interiors would not be everybody's cup of tea but were immaculate and the price was great for the area. I was here attending Naval Basic Training graduation. There isn't coffee in the room but Starbucks & Dunkin Donuts are almost walking distance. The owners have a vegetable garden in the back yard and beautiful flowers along the parking lot. You can see they have a lot of love for the property. I got definite Schitt's Creek motel vibes big times in the best possible way.
